Sustainability ambassador

Dear Reader(s),

I was appointed as a sustainability ambassador last month and I am so excited about this role for our City. There are other citizens who were selected and would do some projects which encourage people to change their behaviour and subsequently reduce Co2 emissions.

We (ambassadors) are involved a commitment to all of the workshops and some project works.
The entire project will be held until next February, 2009.

After this program, we would become mentors for the next group of ambassadors next year.

BTW, my project is involved in the raw waste management at five restaurants in our region.
Do you have any good ideas for this project?

先日、僕の住むホワイトホース市から正式に任命書が届き、
サステナビリティ・アンバサダーに就任する事になりました。

しかし、

このような責務には、いろいろなことをしなければならないということも確かです。

来月、８月から来年２月まで数々のワークショップに出席し、某大学のサステナビリティ・センターにて科目を受講するというものです。かかる経費は無料。全て市が負担してくれるという事です。アンバサダーに選ばれた者は、（聞くところによると数名いるようです）全ての科目やそれに関わる企画を履修し遂行しなければならないらしい。

根本的には、いかにこの地域の市民に社会変革を促すことができるかということらしいのです。それをすることでより良い持続有る生活が可能だということだそうです。
あのフィッシャー教授もいらっしゃる大学ですので嬉しいです。

TheWECANの一歩がこのようなかたちで行われれば、産学官のシナリオも描けるのではないかとも考えます。　 自分の教鞭や、プロジェクトなどあり、どうなるか定かではないですが、
がんばってこの地区や、いや自分のためにもやってみたいと思っています！！
